Marco Bresciano became well known in the Italian Serie-A competition for celebrating goals by standing still, like a statue (la statua). Most players would run around ripping off their shirt’s & doing back flips. Whereas Bresciano would stand still for a moment and take it all in.

For those of you who were at Stadium Australia that magical night in 2005, when he scored that pivotal goal. The whole nation (me included) exploded into tears of joy, and “Bresc” celebrated by standing still while the whole nation erupted around him.
